Nancy was the daughter of William B. Mize appears with Bartley in the 1880 census of Thomas County. Russell Bartley appears in the 1900 census of Thomas Co, in dwelling # 78 in the Spence Dist. Nancy Mize was born in Sept 1861 in GA according to the 1900 census. Amanda and David Bass appear in the 1900 census of Thomas Co; in dwelling # 58 in the Spence Dist. Living with them is Gatsey Wynn, widow. It states that Amanda and David had been married for 12 years with 7 children. Gatsey is listed as having had 8 children 7 still living. This is all I have in by database on Nancy Mize and unfortunately right now I don’t have access to my paper documents. Maybe the Mize that you are looking for that may have fathered Amanda is related to William Mize. I do know that Gatsey Ann lived to be pretty old because I remember my grandmother and mother speaking of her when I started doing my family history and about Amanda Bass was probably not a Wynn but no other names were ever mentioned. My grandmother knew of Gatsey Ann Wynn, she was Mary Brock Barwick (later Sellars) (b. 1903 d. 1976) and lived entire life in and around Pelham. I am sorry I can’t be more help. When I get to my paper documentation I will see if I can find any information on the Mize family. Is there any other information you need on our Wynn family? I would be happy to share it with you. Do you have any information on Amanda and David’s family I don’t have much on them or information on when Gatsey died? Anyway take care

He had many children out of wedlock and didn't claim anyone of them.He was supposedly a wealthy man and took advantage of all these young gilrs by making promises he never kept. Any way Gatsyanns father and Bartly Wynn were friends and the marriage was arranged. Amanda Frances went by Wynn although he never adopted her. What I need is info on this man named Mize. Was Mize her father or is the name wrong? Thankyou for your help. Your cousin,Pan

I am descended from Bartley Wynn through his first wife Rebecca Taylor and their daughter Rebecca who married Tharper Spence. I have corresponded through the years with many of Bartley's descendents and Amanda Wynn has always puzzled me. I don't know if this will help you but you mentioned the name Mize. In looking at my information I remembered that Bartley and Gatsey's son Bartley married a Nancy Mize, maybe there is a connect there?

Maddox. He may have some mistakes in his book, but the book is very helpful for those who have roots in Wilkinson County GA. This Calvin was the son of James Wynn and Winnie Lasseter. Does this coincide with your research? There were two Jesse Crumbley's in the 1850 Census of Wilkinson County. One was listed as 30 years old and was living in the Wm Wynne household. The other was listed as 10 years old and was the son of John Crumbley & Judy Cone. In the 1860 Census: Jesse Crumbley 40, Mary 38 is listed with the Bailey and Crumbley children. I am trying to find where this Jesse (husband of Mary Wynne)is buried. If there is anyone who reads this posting and knows where he is buried please help me. I know there is a Jesse Crumbley buried in Wayne Co. But this is not the Jesse that married Mary Wynne. Jesse of Wayne Co is in the 1880 census listed as 36 years old with wife Senith age 32 and 5 Children; Cornilia E. 12, Franklin 9, Mitchel 7, Ida 5, William 2. The other Jesse of Wilkinson Co, (child of John Crumbley and Judy Cone) married Vicey Bailey child of Jesse Crumbley and Mary Wynne Bailey. Ellouise Please send me the pictures if you can. I will send you an email with my address if you want to send copies by mail. Thanks so much. Helen

This family is listed in the 1860 census of Wilkinson County GA with the Bailey Children and the Crumbley Children. These are the Children as I have them: • Susannah Bailey b abt 1840, married Calvin P. Wynne. • Martha Jane Bailey b abt 1842. • Mary E. Bailey b abt 1844, married John H. Buried in Bulloch County Upper Mill Creek Cemetery. • Jesse A. Crumbley b abt 1862, married Amanda Kingery. The originial question in the posting is: Trying to find infor about Jane Bailey Born 1842 to O. H. Bailey & Mary Wynn. In my listing made in 1964 from an interview with my uncle Ira T. Crumbley b. 1879; d. 1969, he did not give a name of husband or children for her. I have found that she is listed in the 1880 census as living with Jessie(Jesse) and Mary Crumbley in Wilkinson County, Martha J. Bailey age 37. In the 1850 Census Pulaski County GA, she is listed with the O. H. Bailey family as Martha J. Baily. I have no information about Jane Bailey Beacham. Thanks for the information about Gervaise Wynn Perdue, I have received info and pictures from her. Do you have any pictures of any of these folks that I have listed? Hope to keep in touch. Helen

There is a G W Morris born JUN 28, 1846 died MAR 21 1898 beside a Sally J Morris at Lovett Methodist Church (east side of the Oconee River) in the Laurens Co Cemetery Records Book.
