    3. Hi Gerry, I have the Cemetery Book, also. I was just wondering if you had any other information on the William who was born Jan 1829 and buried in1861 at McLendon Cemetery. My mother who is almost 70 says she doesn't remember much about the McLendon side of her family. Her grandmother was a McLendon.. W.F. (also called Doc) and Eliza McLendon Holliday were her grandparents. Please keep me in mind if you find any information on the McLendon's buried at McLendon's Cemetery. Thanks, Connie Original Message ----- From: "Gerry" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, September 10, 2002 2:46 PM Subject: [[GALAUREN]] Re: [[GALAUREN]] Re: [[GALAUREN]] Re: McLendon Family Cemeteries > Connie, could you furnish some dates and/or siblings of William? 3. I saw something interesting in a previous post but did not comment on it -- the name, NEWSOME. Now that the SCOTTS have been thrown on the table, I will comment on this bunch. The SCOTTS and the NEWSOMS were tied up in Putnam County, GA. The STOKES were also in this little group. There were WILLIAMS, BARNES, EDWARDS and NEWSOME in this bunch. Some of these families also tie into families in Wilkes, Elbert, Morgan and probably Greene County, GA. The STOKES were originally from Lunenburg Co, Virginia and moved to Elbert County, GA. the progenitor, William STOKES (1735-1894) was married to a Sarah WADE. Most of these families are around my DANIEL family of Jefferson and Morgan County, GA though I do not connect to them, except through the SCOTTS who marry into the KILPATRICK that connect to my bunch in Madison, Morgan County, GA. There may also be a HUDSON in this bunch because this it is a middle name in some of the SCOTTS of Putnam County, GA. John R.
