    3. Found today a civil war letter written by James O.(Oliver) Beauchamp written to his father, John Beauchamp and he was stationed at Griswoldville, Jones County, Ga. I may have this name spelled wrong. Did a google search for the name and there was a pistol manufacturing company located there and guess James O. Beauchamp was stationed there or working in the factory. During Shermans march to the sea they destroyed the company. Anyone know anything about this small community, is it still there, any remains, anything at all. Thanks in advance. Don Bankston

    3. Don, Every year in May there is a reenactment of the Battle of Griswoldville near Gray, Ga., during Old Clinton War Days. I don't think there is much left of Griswoldville, but there is a description here: http://scvcamp1399.org/griswoldville-battle-overview.php From: donbankston via <gajones@rootsweb.com> >To: "gajones@rootsweb.com" <gajones@rootsweb.com> >Sent: Monday, November 17, 2014 6:35 PM >Subject: [GAJONES] Grisswoldville > > >Found today a civil war letter written by James O.(Oliver) Beauchamp >written to his father, John Beauchamp and he was stationed at >Griswoldville, Jones County, Ga.
