Iam looking for any information on William Chambers (b. Jones County,GA in 1832) and Laurie/Laura Pippins Chambers (also b. in GA 1831). According to what records that I have found on William Chambers was in Jasper county,MS in the 1860 census records being 28 years old with his wife Laura Chambers,27(b. GA) and Winney Chambers, 8(b.GA,my GG grandmother who married William Stephen Wedgeworth here in MS) and Kate Chambers,14 born in NC(William's sister ??) William Chambers family and William Stephen Wedgeworth parent's household lived near each other and both service in the 37th MS Inf. together. William Chamber died in service in 1862 and William Stephen Wedgeworth came home and married William Chambers daughter, Winney Catherine Chambers in 1869. According to William Chamber's war record it states that he was born in Jones County, G! A and died at the age of 30. Winney Catherine Chambers Wedgeworth DC states both her parents and birthplace as GA. I can find no record what happend to Laura/Laurie Pippins Chambers or Kate Chambers after the Civil War was over in MS records. Love to know what happen to both ladies and more information on Willam Chamber prior to them coming to Mississippi. Could it be possible that someone there might know of the Chambers/Pippins family linage???
