"The Georgia Journal" published weekly at Milledgeville Ga. Issue Date: July 12, 1815 JOHN HUTSON of Jones County, was bitten by a Stray dog which he had befriended, and died a few days later of Hydrophobia. He was at work in the field with his little brother, when he saw the dog over the fence, go got over the fence and attempted to pick the dog up and put over the fence when he was bitten. Feb. 28, 1816 Died at his residence in Jones Company on the 7th inst., CAPT. THOMAS RAINES in his 54th year. In him we have lost another hero on '76. He was indeed a patriot and one who distinguished himself in our memorable struggle for independence. He leaves an affectionate wife and several children and many respectable relatives.
