This is taken from the Jones County News dated Jan. 30, 2003 For Jones County history buffs and those interested in their local ancestry, good news is at hand -- the most complete chronicle written about the county s history is going to be repritned. The History of Jones County is scheduled for its fourth printing in March, and presales are underway. Reserving a copy is a bargain at $60.00, with the price going up to $75.00 after March 1. Jones County History and Heritage, Inc. is responsible for the reprinting and considers it a tribute to the author, Mrs. Carolyn White Williams. The book will be printed as the original except one picture has been changed and an index, forward and biography has been added. Mrs. Margaret Stephens, who works at the Washington Library in Macon, compiled the index to aid in finding information in the 1128-page volume. Copies of the book can be ordered through the Jones County/Gray Chamber of Commerce (478 - 986-1123). Queechie Chancey King
