Their children were: Richard born 1858, Charles born 1861, Walton 1863, Thomas 1857 and Anna 1865. In the 1870 census the family was living in Jones County, John was enumeration # 551 and #671 was Newton Ethridge. Were they brothers? Were there other sibblings? John married 2nd in Jones County Arsenith Davis-Arsenith is the name on the marriage license, the census gives her name as Sarah and an Obit for Jasper Newton Ethridge, the son of John and Sarah gives her name as Cennie.
