    3. I need your help, please. According to an old newspaper article, On Jan. 4, 1817, Susanah Davis gave a deposition in Jones County, Georgia, that she swore (by her mark) that John Waker(sic) is the brother of Wise Man Walker "that they say was kild (sic) at fort mims." Jesse Womack and Levi Mobly were the justices of the peace who signed the document. The massacre, the Fort Mims, in Baldwin County, Alabama, during the Creek war, resulted in the deaths of between 250 - 500 people. I am working with a professor at the University of South Alabama who is creating a documented list of the participants of that battle. We would like to have a copy of this actual document referred to in the article. If anyone recognizes this Davis or Walker family, please contact me. Also, if anyone has a book or microfiln with the above record or any records pertaining to these people - Wiseman or Wise Man Walker, Susannah Davis or John Walker - please send me the information. The participants report is part of an archeological record of Fort Mims that will be sent to the Alabama Historical Commission. Thank you for any help. Sue Moore sbmoore@swbell.net
