Ga Wills Board URL: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ga/JonesWill?read=24 Surname: Denson ------------------------- WILL OF JAMES DENSON In the name of God Amen, I James Benson of the State of Georgia and County of Jones being weak of body but of perfect mind and memory and calling into mind the mortality of my body and knowing that is is appointed unto man Once to die, do make and ordain this my last will and testamint, viz, first. I commend my sound in to the hands of God who gave it and my body to the earth to be buried in a decent christian burial at the discretion of my executors and as touching such worldly Estate as it have pleased God to bless me with, I give, bequeath, demise and dispose of the same in the following manner and form, viz, It is my wish that al my lands in S County be Sold immediately if it can be done advantageously and if it can not, as soon as it can after another crop is made and that my present crop of cotton with all the stock that can be spared be Sold as soon As possible, and the crop that may be made the present year if the land can't be sold, and when the land is sold with al the stock and all debts collected that is due me and all paid that is due from me, then it is my wish that an Equal division be made betwixt my beloved wife and heirs of my son James H. My daughter Rebeckah, Elizabeth, Aretta and Jemima, with the following excepts I hive to the children of my son James a childs part of my Estate to be at his service and use but the right never to be conveyed out of their reach, and to his son, my grandson Jesse Shadrack the sum of five hundred dollars over and above and that my daughter Rebeckah have her proportion of my Estate in money and not to have any part of my negroes, and that my daughter Mary Tisdale be paid or allowed an Equal part in money with the rest of my children after deducting five hundred dollars which it is calculated she has already received and it is my wish that my Executors do use their own discretion in Employing an overseer and keeping the stock making a crop and doing with and for my Estate the present year as they may think most to the benefit of the same. And I do hereby nominate and appoint my trusty friends Lazarus Battle, Luke Bowd, Jesse McKennie Pope Emund Lowe, John Cook & Peter Cyche the sole Executors of this my last will and testament.
