Well, there seemed to be two John Brooks, the other one close to William Brooks in 1817 and Charles H. Brooks in 1818-1819. I am looking for information about Robert and Matthew Brooks who appear on the 1817 tax list and Arthur Brooks who entered the 1820 Land Lottery with his residence listed as Jones Co. If he is the Arthur Brooks I think he is,he isn't on the tax lists, because he was 88 years old in 1820. I think Robert and Matthew might be his sons.
