David, Since you are familiar with that area, are you familiar with a cemetery possibly in the Hillsboro area. When we were there, we looked for the cemetery mentioned in the deed record. The land is obviously partly in both Jasper and Jones counties. We know the family lived on Glady Creek but that really doesn't help except to find it close to both county borders. We also discovered that this area is in the Oconee Forest. I am sure that it is unkept if it still exists and of course it will be on private property. Just curious to know if anyone has any suggestions or if you have any knowledge of such a cemetery. The following is an exerpt from the deed transfer to Matilda Roe: "......the said William O Davis now lives containing three hundred and seven acres more or less with the exception of a half acre where the grave yard or burying ground is and which is reserved. Number fifty two [52] in the three hundred and sixtieth district [360] of Jones County containing one hundred and ninety two acres and one hundred and fifteen acres in the county of Jasper adjoining of the aforementioned land of the said fifty two lying on the county line of Jasper and Jones countys adjoining of lands of Whit Harper and others."
