Fort Hawkins Frontier Day is September 14th from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. We're currently in the process of enlisting volunteers. Ideas are below: Volunteers can: Help prepare for the Frontier Day opening by. · Calling antique stores to see if they will display items from 1790-1830 for our event. · Calling local businesses for door prizes. · Writing trivia contest questions. · Contacting Boy Scout troops, or similar groups with Frontier Day info. · Distributing flyers for store windows - Macon / WR, etc. Help at Fort Hawkins for the opening by. · Giving tours / assisting visitors. · Distributing printed info to visitors. · Supervising children in the fort for safety reasons. · Parking cars. · Providing a demonstration of historic activities. · Storytelling (stories must relate to Fort Hawkins). · Meeting at Fort Hawkins an hour early for clean-up.
