Hi ~~ I read with interest the following. For three generations, I have James Dawson Cook's. The first being born October 28, 1876 in Clinton, Jones Co., GA. I've not been able to connect any Dawson but it does my heart good to see the name was in Jones Co. and, quite possibly, will end up being a maternal grandmother's maiden name. Here is my list of family names in Jones Co. All my fathers ancestors passed through Jones Co. Many are brick walls. However, I did find a number of them came from the Abbeville, SC area. If anyone can connect to the following Jones Co. families, would appreciate hearing from you.
