    3. Mitzi: I have seen the term "relict of" mentioned many times in various conversations and to the best of my knowledge, most people seem to think that it means the "widow of". Anyone else know for sure what this term means? Being a retired (gee I thought I was anyway!) teacher, I do know that the term "relic" means a remaining fragment; the body of a deceased person, or a memento or keepsake. But, to know for sure the precise meaning for that time period, I do not. Neither do I know for sure what the term "consort" means.
