    3. Dianne Wilcox wanted everyone to know about this exciting event coming up... This is a grand opportunity to experience the 1812 era and find out more about your ancestors who might have been in this section of GA at that early time. We're always trying to get more data on-line about this period so please share whatever you might have. This would include Native American as well as the Militia living in the area at this time period. I hope some of you can actually attend and then give us some descriptive notes afterwards....so those of us too far away will also benefit from this. Dianne's work is so through, and she continues to research....so do look over what she has done already!! ==============================War of 1812 - Ft. Hawkins==== Georgia Military College's Robins campuses will be opening Macon's War of 1812 Fort Hawkins Blockhouse this Saturday, April 12th from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. There is no admission fee. More information about GMC's Service Learning Project, and my research is at http://launchpad.gmc.cc.ga.us/robins/fortha.htm and http://www.rootsweb.com/~gajones/hawkins.htm. If someone believes he has an ancestor connected to the fort, he may use the rootsweb site, click on "edit," click on "find," type in the name he wants, then click "find" again, and the website will show all listings of that name. Folks can do the same thing for place names. I'll be glad to answer questions about how I got the names and places (and there is an extensive bibliography online, too). I especially like to hear from folks who have documented information that I don't have, yet, so we can build the information we have about the fort and its connections.
