My information has John born in Virginia. He married Susannah Satterwhite from Granville County, NC. He was in Elbert County, Ga. in 1797 when John, Jr. was born. The Census of 1880 for Flat Rock, Randolph, AL gives Simeon's birthplace as South Carolina. He may be from a different line. If you find information that he is another child of John Childs, Sr. who died in Jones Co., Ga. in 1825, let me know. I can send you a photo of his DAR Patriot's monument. Ken Smith Simeon W.
