    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Mitchell, Maderias, Flournoy, Driver, Christian, Womack, and Duffy Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Xc.2ADI/1165 Message Board Post: The Longstreet Society is having a seminar in Manassas, Virginia, October 5-6, 2002. The seminar is called "A Soldier Every Inch-Longstreet at Manassas". There is a battlefield tour; silent auction; and presentations. The Longstreet Society is from Gainesville, Georgia. The Georgia telephone number is (678) 422-6142. Where are the original settlers? I am interested in any information, pictorial or narrative, about Warren Anderson Mitchell, C.S.A. Warren Anderson Mitchell was the great grandson of Henry Mitchell, Revolutionary Soldier, of Jones County, Georgia. Warren Anderson Mitchell, C.S.A., a native of Jones County, Georgia, was serving, on duty in the recruiting office, at Camp Watts, near Notasulga, Alabama, when he contracted pneumonia and died on November 20, 1862. He was brought back to his old home in Clinton, Georgia. His widowed spouse, Lucinda Christian Mitchell, later survived General Sherman's March to the Sea. Can you please tell me where the evacuation destination was for the residents of Jones County during General Sherman's March to the Sea. I have found Confederate Widow's Pension Claim, Number 3655, dated August 24, 1891, Jones County, Georgia, for Lucinda Christian Mitchell. However, it does not include regimental history or company information for Warren Anderson Mitchell, C.S.A. This is what I am looking for. Mitchells who were serving include: Ichabod Mitchell, C.S.A., who was serving and died at Fredericksburg and Uriah Mitchell, C.S.A., who was serving near Atlanta in the 8th Georgia Militia, and who was wounded while building a breastworks. Cousin Wallace has told me of Bud Driver Mitchell, C.S.A., who entered the Confederate army in 1864 and who was serving in Mobile, Montgomery, and at Camp Watts, near Notasulga, Alabama. Hoping. In May of 1956, upon removal of a confederate monument, the records of Company F, 45th Georgia Volunteer Infantry, were found in Macon, Bibb County, Georgia. Included were the brothers of Lucinda Christian Mitchell: First Sgt. Hardy Christian, C.S.A., who was serving and who was surrendered at Appomattox, and Private William Christian, C.S.A., who was serving and who died at Guiney Station, Virginia (now called Guinea, Virginia). Who sees the Navy in Virginia? Thank you, sincerely, Terri Anne Hastings Average e-mail is o.k.: purchaseorders@yahoo.com
