tried again to reach your personal addy...and failed. Looking for CHILDS/CHILES I hope this is okay...I don't have a given name yet as a householder... Look for a daughter's name of Lizzie, or Sarah Elizabeth, or any variant. There may be a son, too, named Charles, Charlie, etc. Jennifer Sherwood Braswell [email protected] Jennifer Sherwood Braswell [email protected]

Had trouble with your address again. Message is below. Jennifer Sherwood Braswell [email protected] : Thanks, Jane. : I have a CHILDS/CHILES line from the Monroe CO/Jones CO area. : There are many there... : May I also share this with our CHILDS FAMILY round robin group? : : Jennifer Sherwood Braswell : [email protected]
The county from which my "documented" family lines came from is such a lost county as far as records are concerned, a fire destroying the courthouse in both 1843 & again in 1893, that I am always looking for clues as to where they may have come from originally. In searching for them, I also try to help anyone else who might have had ancestors in this county. This morning while combing through the records for Heard County, Georgia, I found this data on the CHILDS family that came from Jones County and thought that someone might find it useful. There is no known connection to my own family lines as far as I know at the present. I'm just presenting it here for anyone who might be missing some of their own "links" in time. SIMEON WASHINGTON CHILDS, born February 22, 1825 in Jones County, Georgia, died may 12, 1897 in Randolph County, Alabama. His father was JOHN CHILDS and his mother was PATSY CROWDER. Simeon W. I have been informed by my cousin, who was custodian of the old County Line Primitive Baptist Church Books that date back to 1809, that the books were placed in the Washington Memorial Library in Macon, Georgia. I believe they have also been photographed by the Georgia State Archives. The old County Line Church was located on or near the Jasper County-Jones County line. I remember seeing these books several years ago. The books included church business and deeds. Many names of early settlers were listed. This may be of interest to researchers who had ancestors living in southern Jasper County or northern Jones County. Gene Funderburk

My apologies to all the CHILDS researchers out there, and I was surprised and so tickled to find some! I acidentally left John CHILDS, son of Nathan out of my Descendant tree and surprised a few researchers. Elisha and Elijah were twin sons of John CHILDS, not Nathan. When I was typing up the descendancy, I was flipping from page to page in Family Tree and I flipped past John thinking I'd already typed him in the e-mail. Guys, I'm so sorry for any confusion I caused!! I'm happy to hear from you CHILDS researchers and will be writing you individually soon. Many Thanks, Bev CORRECTED Descent: > My line goes: > 6. Linnie CHILDS > 5. Manuel CHILDS > 4. Henry A. CHILDS > 3. Elisha CHILDS 2. John CHILDS > 1. Nathan CHILDS c. 1730
