Can anyone recommend any books on the history of Jefferson County and/or the surrounding counties? I'm particularly interested in Queensborough, but I would like to know about life in general in this area during the 1700s and 1800s. Much obliged! Christine Hadden

Hi, The Thomasville, GA Genealogical Library has a copy of it but it is worthless, IMHO. It was written ABT 1920 and is a real small book with not of lot of names in it. You could probably find just about as much about your ancestors by asking someone you casually met on the street about them. <grin> It is not like most of the city of county history books you will see from other locations that contain lots of specific detail about families and dates. At least, I thought it worthless but you may feel otherwise. John R.
