Hi, John and Linda, I firmly believe that Caroline, wife of Allen S.B. Pior was the daughter of Sarah Smith. As in the marriage contract of Sarah Smith and Travis Gwilliams (this is the way that his name is written several times), Sarah leaves 1/2 of all her property to Caroline Pior, wife of Allen S.B. Pior and her children at Sarah's death. Her estate is quite large, having 17 slaves, 546 acres of land next to Augustus C. Baldwin, Samuel Dowse and others, plus 7 head of horses and mules, and plantation tools, etc. The Marriage Contract is signed by Sarah Smith, Travis Gwilliams, Allen S.B. Pior and delivered in presence of Moses Walker, Noah Smith, Elam B. Lewis J.P. Recorded 5th November 1845. Have you even seen Caroline as a daughter listed of Sarah? Now, Allen and Caroline's first son was names Benjamin Franklin Pior (my husband's 2nd great grandfather), and then my husband's grandfather was named Herbert TRAVIS Pior. The names tie in, don't they? Do you think that Noah is a brother of Sarah? Caroline and Allen are in Jefferson County in 1850 census, then evidently head to Bienville, Louisiana and sometime Caroline dies, and Allen remarries in 1854. Do appreciate all the information, and perhaps the blank spots will fill in. Martha
