This may help and may not -- Bienville Parish, LA Reddick BRYAN (1793-1864), son of James BRYAN and UNK and g/s of Col. Needham BRYAN and Nancy Ann SMITH of Bertie County, NC, died in Bienville Parish, LA. Nancy was the d/o John SMITH and Elizabeth WHITFIELD of Smithfield, Johnston County, North Carolina. Hartwell HARRISON of Edgefield, SC who married Mary Ann KEY (b. aBT 1801), the d/o Capt. Henry KEY, Jr. and Phoebe TALBOT also died in Bienville Parish, LA. Note also: Gen. Hartwell Harrison TARVER (1784-1840) lived in Twiggs and was a son of Andrew Etheldred TARVER and Elizabeth HARTWELL and g/s of John TARVER and Elizabeth JORDAN. Where in the world have I heard the Etheldred name before? <grin> Also, please remember the JORDAN connection from a previous post? Same bunch.... Gen. TARVER when he died in 1840 was listed as being the richest man in GAWGA. He married a WIMBERLEY, d/o Ezekiel, as his second wife, and I do not know who his first wife was. I can also tell you who the richest man in GA was a generation or so later, Hardy BRYAN (1797-1859) of Melrose Plantation, Thomas County, GA. Also remember some other names in all of this -- the PIERCES. How about Reddick and Lovick PIERCE, as well as the CANNONS, CASONS and CALLAWAYS. Throw in the LAMARS and WALTONS and you have most of the First Families of GAWGA in one paragraph...... <grin> John R.
