    3. Betty, It wasn't a knife. I was in my shop trying to repair the want on a portable sprayer that my wife had stepped and broken. It happened when I reached up on the bench for what I thought was a piece of sandpaper and it was not. It was a razor blade. I should have turned on my big overhead light over the work bench but I had not. I will tell you this -- it did not take me long to look at that razor blade. <grin> As for the JC website, this has always been one of my pet complaints about the former bunch who ran the GA Genweb project -- they would not work with the GA Genweb County archivists, at all. In fact, they tried to do everything they could to hurt this vital function of the GA Genweb Project. There are even those Rootsweb County Mailing List administrators, even today, that will not let the archivist post updates to their county mail list that show new additions to the archives for their county. They not only do not let them post these updates, they actually lock them off that counties Rootsweb mail list. The Rootsweb Mailing List Administrator for JC does not fall into this bunch but there are those of adjacent counties, who do. It seems, that some of these folks, along with some of the former GA Genweb County Coordinators had set themselves up in a similar function to the reasons we go to church on Sundays. They also would not change, one bit. Some of these folks have been removed from their county positions by the US Genweb project but some still remain. The old state coordinator of the GA Genweb project was one of these that was removed. It was at this point that I entered the picture and was appointed County Coordinator for both Jefferson and Morgan Counties. Personally, I view the three main genealogical entities of each county, e.g, Rootsweb Mailing List Administrator, GA Genweb County Coordinator and GA Genweb Archives Manager, as three cogs on the same wheel and they must work together in order to get new genealogical information out to you - the user. Some disagree with this approach and want to keep their "little play pretty" all for themselves and will do anything possible to keep any and all genealogical information they come across only available on "their websites." This is the wrong approach because all three of us must work together in order to serve our constituencies -- you and all the other researchers who have family in Jefferson County, GA. Thanks for your kind comments and I will bring more features online on the Jefferson County website as I become more familiar with the limited server capabilities of the Rootsweb servers. Their server level capabilities are limited compared to the up to date Microsoft servers I usually work with but I will do my best, of that you can be assurred. John R.
