    3. In olden times the Bible was taken far more seriously than today. A brother literally took care of his brother's wife and children after his death. I suppose if you find two marriages that would not be the case. However, this did happen. Winnette __ --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. 3. Winnette, Ain't that the truth. When Lucretia DANIEL (1807-1849) died in, possibly Russell County, AL in 1849, her husband, William Allen TARVER, Sr. dumped their four children on her two younger brothers, Robert W. and James L. DANIEL of Jefferson County, GA to raise. This is why you will see these TARVER kids living with Robert and James in JC in the post 1850 time frame. You will also see some of the WISE kids also living with Robert W. DANIEL in Jefferson in 1860 -- their father who had married Robert's sister, Sarah Elizabeth DANIEL, had died and Robert took them in and gave them a job. You will also see a lot of times where a brother married the widow of his brother, after the death of his wife. Yes, they were their "brother's keeper" in more ways than one. It is a shame families do not stick together as tight as these folks did, back then. As for the Bible part of your message, I wonder how they would feel about the religious beliefs of our society, today. Not very much, IMHO. <sigh> John R. Not very much, IMHO. <sigh> John, I can tell you I don't think much of what is happening to religious belief's today. Forget the politicians, they are going to do whatever is popular at the time, just to win votes. Our pastors have been tolerant for too long and will not rock the boat. They arre so afraid they might offend someone. I think a little hellfire and brimestone preaching might just help (old time Primitive Baptist or Holiness type). Lordy, it appears being White/Creek, Christian and Southern offends everyone... Winnette --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com).
