    2. Would you please change the death date of Vicie (Gay) Parker to November 19, 1861........death is July 15, 1901. That would make her 100 years old and she died of typhoid fever when she was only 40 years old, her husband, James W. Parker died the next month of the same thing.(August 19, 1853-August 19,1901). GGGgrandaughter, Jean Parker Chavis.

    3. Hi, If you are asking me to change that date, I cannot. That is not my material and I cannot change it even if I wanted to. I suggest contacting the person who transcribed that cemetery and asking them to change it and post their changes back to the Jefferson County, Archives. Their name and email address should be at the top of the transcription page. I do not know who transcribed the cemetery in question and you did not list a cemetery where this lady was buried but usually these folks just go row to row and write down what the tombstone says. At least, that is the way I do it. It is hard for me to see how they could have made a 40 year error in reading the inscription on the tombstone. I will also tell you there are a lot of our ancestors whose graves were in the area that became Ft. Stewart and they blew them to pieces for target practice in the 1940's, so we no longer have many of these graves on this military reservation. Also, some of the new "less than moral majority" in Wadley have turned over and defaced many of the grave stones in Bethany Cemetery in Wadley, where some of my DANIEL folks are buried. It would seem the Methodist Church in Wadley would monitor this cemetery and keep it up since this cemetery was once adjacent to their church before they moved it down town. After all, it was their church cemetery and most of their early members are buried there. John R.
