    1. Re: [GAJEFFER] Evans family
    2. Jim, not that I know of. Only Evans I know of is that Mary M. Evans, born in Burke, married in Jeff. to Aquilla Wesley Parker. I believe although she was born in Burke they moved to Jeff. because she was married there. So her family probably was living in Jeff. at the time of her marriage 1842. Mary M. was born 1883-1888 Jean

    3. Dawn, This is one of the deeds, wills and names you have to watch. This KEY is not from the family of the same name from Fluvanna County, VA or Edgefield County, SC, according to KEY researchers, but KEA. This family confused me too for a while and I guess they confused everybody else, because they seem to have changed their name to KEY at the earliest opportunity. <grin> Warren KEA, Jr.(1813-1862) married Eliza Ann DRAKE and Frances Delilah FLANDERS, d/o John R. FLANDERS, Sr. and Nancy SUMNER. Warren, Jr. was the son of Rev. Warren KEA, Sr. (1783-1843) and Mary Ann Nancy BEASLEY, d/o James BEASLEY and Ann TAYLOR. Ann was the daughter of a Travis PATE and an Annie. I am not going to touch that one. <grin> Warren, Sr., as they say, was a son of James KEA of Ireland, latter Orangeburg, SC and an Elizabeth BARNES, d/o James. The BEASLEYS were from Warren County, NC and before that, Chowan. These KEYS were around my DANIEL bunch and they married into many of the same families as the DANIELS. There is a Bryan BEASLEY, floating around these BEASLEYS, that I would love to know something more about. However, there are a couple of given names in this KEA/KEY family that make me question some of this KEA information. One is the Tandy given name, another is a Burrell given names and another is the Warren given name, plus their connection to the BARNES and FLANDERS family. I really do not see an Orangeburg, SC return address for this family because these given names tell me,eastern NC, because the BARNES were from the Edgecombe area, the FLANDERS were from Northampton County, NC and just about every family in this area of GA came from eastern North Carolina. These eastern central Georgia families may have been VA folks at one time but most of the direct VA to GA families settled a little further north than Burke, Jefferson, Washington and Emanuel County, GA. Most of these VA folks moved into the Washington, Oglethorpe and Greene County, GA areas John R. 1. [GAJEFFER] Cottle family in Jefferson Co.
    2. I would like information about John Jennings Cottle and his wife (Delilah?) who migrated to Jefferson Co. by 1798 and lived there until about 1836. Did they have a son William who married about 1808 or later? They had a son John Jefferson Cottle who migrated to Sumter Co., GA about 1830.

    1. RE: [GAJEFFER] Tarver / Farrow
    2. Lynn Farrer
    3. Thank you John for your replying. This distant Farrer/Farrow cousin has a lot of incorrect data on the family out on the internet. I have done the research. found sources and know she is wrong on a lot of stuff. Once before on grand children and great grand children of Jesse Farrow I ask for sources for info and it was not there. I have personally quite posting eveything I have to the internet because some of what I have in my record is sourced fact and other parts are stuff I am trying to prove. While I may post a query about it to a board like Burke or Jefferson County, I won't post it to the world like it is fact unless I am sure it is. I don't consired anything I learn on the internet as correct unless it can be sourced, I consider it a jumping off place to start my research. Burke county has been tough for me to verify anything for 25 years because I have never found much early records. For 25-30 years I have known about Jesse Farrow but have never been able to tie him to his ancestors. He has letter he wrote about his service in SC units during the war, battles he fought in, ect. He never says where he lived before the war and I have never been able to find a reference to him except for Rev War documents and a few in Burke County from 1793 until his death in 1821.
