Descend from Thomas LANE and Rhoda NICHOLSON from Jasper County, GA. Thomas built a house there about 1820, but he died before the family moved in. The youngest son, Henry (Doc) , was 9 months old at the time of his father's death. Their only daughter, Mary Ann (Polly), was 12 years old at the time. 1810 census has Thomas Lane in South Carolina. 1820 census has Thomas in Putnam Co., GA, where his brother William Dawkins LANE had been living. I have read with interest the "History of Jasper County, Georgia" book by the Jasper County Historical Foundation, but now would like a copy of the "History of the Lanes of Jasper County, GA."
