Do you have Jasper County ancestors who were there about 1800? If so, do you know where they (the families) were before they moved to Jasper County? My ancestor, James L. Martin, was there and married my ggg grandmother, Sarah C. Smith, in 1821, but I do not know "from whence he came." I'm searching for any clues that could lead me to where he and his supposed father, J. Mather Martin, were born. According to the 1850 census, this was South Carolina. But where? Bill Derrow
