Crystal Lady is sharing a war record 1836 on Wiley T. High. Does anyone else have any record from someone in Jasper County that might have also served in this Hoxey's Batt'n and Capt Evan's Company. I keep working to get more of these on-line... ================================== Creek Indian War, 1836. Ga. Hoxey's Batt'n Wiley T. High was a Private in Capt Evan's Co. Cadet Riflemen, Hoxey's Batt'n Georgia No age given but I think he was born about 1816 in Ga. Appears on the Co. Muster Out Roll, dated Columbus, Sept 2 1836 which is his muster out date. Wiley enrolled June 1 1836 from Columbus Ga. His muster in date was May 9, 1836. He was in service 3 months 22 day. There is a notation from the record and Pension Office of the War Dept dated Washington Nov. 15th 1893 that certifies that this man is regarded by this department as having been in the service of the United States from May 9, 1836 from which day paid. His wife would have been dead before 1893 so I doubt if she ever got a pension. I don't know if this would be any value for your page but thought I would send it. I have other information on Wiley T. High on my website under High Family Genealogy. www.crystallady.com Wiley lived in Jasper County until 1850 census, then moved to Atlanta. They had a son there 1851.Before the family move to Ala. She later moves to the Crockett , Houston County area with several of her children and she dies in that county. www.crystallady.com
