Todd, I don't have your Richard Lewis but in my Jackson Co., GA source (book) "Jackson County, Georgia Early Court Records 1796-1831" by Faye S. Poss, there is a court record, Minutes of Court of Ordinary R.S. Oaths, 1822-1831, entered about 1st Mar 1830: Elizabeth S. Lewis has given the required notice that she is applying to the court for letters of administration on estate of Pearce B. Lewis; executed by J.W. Glenn, Robert Smithwick and Robert Venable. Found on pages 107-108 of the court record and page 331 of the source above-named. This could "possibly" be a lead for you for some of Richard Lewis' earlier lineage. I also have in my line a Richard Lewis, who marr. on 23 Feb 1802 in Green Co., GA, Susannah Hightower b.c.1781 Mecklenburg Co., VA. Probably too early for your Richard Lewis. I see that you are researching BROWN. Where are you BROWNs from? My BROWN and BUNN families are found later on in Emanuel Co., GA, having come from NC. My DODD line is from Habersham Co., GA, having come from somewhere in VA. My TOLBERT line is from Jackson Co., GA, probably from NC. Good luck.
