Ihave an ancestor, James McDonald with family in Jackson County from 1799 to about 1820. James died about 1806 and left small children and a widow. The 3 oldest boys went into indenture; the youngest stayed with his mother, who remarried about 1808 to a Joseph Burnett. Does anyone have any information on this family, or know if the indenture records still exist and how to access them?
