One good place to do Jackson Co. research is at the library in Commerce, Ga. They have all the old Jackson Herald newspapers on file. I have found and copied obituaries of my family dating back to 1910, still readable. They have some wonderful research books too. Good genealogy dept. Another library with Jackson Co. records is in Gainesville, Ga. They have census records on file, as well as many Ga. records and other local research books. This genealogy dept is much bigger than Commerce. Am researching Banks of Jackson Co., and have found good info at both libraries. Have also been to Jackson Co. courthouse and found the people there to be very helpful. Happy Hunting!! Judy
