I recently posted several queries regarding members of the CROW family in GA. I am submitting a sketch of the James Crow, Jr. family. Any additional information, corrections, or comments are welcome. Charles Ward CMW12635@aol.com James CROW, Jr. (b.ca 1748 in NC) was in Jackson Co., GA in 1805 (per 1805 GA Land Lottery); m. Hannah (surname unknown). He served as co-executor of his father's will with his brother, Stephen Crow. James Crow left North Carolina and resided for a time in South Carolina. James Crow, Jr. is found in Elbert Co., GA as early as 28 Apr 1791 when he sold land with his wife, Hannah, to William Gordon. Children: 1. Jacob Crow(b.ca 1770/5; d. 1807/8); m. NN. Resided in Jackson Co., GA at the time of his death. Children: i. Lewis Crow; chose Isaac Reed as his guardian in Jackson Co., GA, 1 Feb 1808. m. Catherine Wright. ii. Jacob Crow (b.ca 1790/1800); m. Mary Elizabeth Burnett. Listed with brother, Lewis Crow in 1820 Hall Co., GA Census. 2. Levi Crow (b.ca 1782 in SC); m. Nancy (surname unknown). He is listed with his nephews, Lewis and Jacob, as residing in Hall Co., GA (before its creation) when it was still Indian territory, in 1817. 3. Martha "Patsy" Crow (b.ca 1785 in SC); m. 1807, Jackson Co., GA, to Irvin STRICKLAND. He was residing in present-day Hall Co., GA with his brother-in-law, Levi Crow, and his wife's nephews, Lewis and Jacob Crow. 4. John Crow 5. Hannah "Anna" Crow m. Mr. Quinn 6. James Crow III 7. Mary "Polly" Crow (b.ca 1793); m. 1810/1811, Joseph STRICKLAND. Note: A Sion Crow may be a member of this family, but this has not been verified. It seems likely as he is found with other members of this family in present-day Hall Co., GA in 1817.
