    3. Marie, Can you clarify this for me? Did the Joel Freeman family you mention (see letter below) actually live in this David-Freeman cabin? Do you happen to know the approx dates? Or other details of this family? The information I have is, Joel Freeman (living in Madison Co, GA) b.1776 d.1863 m. Elizabeth Ware, they had a son Joel Newton Freeman 1822-1883. I have no wife for this man, and had thought he was in the Richmond Co GA, area around the Civil War. These Freemans were related to other Freemans residing in Jackson and Franklin Co GA. The cabin is a dogtrot log structure was once presently located on Hwy 335 on the East side of Nicholson. Davids mother had purchased the property in the 1820s. David built the two room structure in the 1840s and contemporary additions were added in 1920 and also 1940. Davids wife of Ms Sarah Strickland of Madison County. After her death he married Ms. Lucinda Pittman. One of their daughters Lutitia married Joel Freeman from the County of Madison. They had 8 children. The cabin never had running water or electricity for home conveniences. The cabin was donated and removed to the Hurricane Shoals Park, and is in viewing at the History Village for tourist attractions.
