I have a Samuel Hay b. 1-30-1779 m. Esther (or Easter or Ester) Brantley on 10-24-1800 in Oglethorpe Co. d. 6-2-1838 in Jackson Co. The children I have for them are Sarah b. 9-16-1801, Catcey b. 12-20-1804, and Betsy b. 6-7-1810. I'm descended from Sarah, who married David Mitchell Burns in Jackson Co. The name Catcey piqued my interest since I had never heard of it before. Just recently, I corresponded with a lady with Hay ancestors who says she has old family letters that mention Catcey. I have nothing further on descendants of Samuel except for Sarah, but the dates seem to fit. Do any of your people have a middle name of Brantley? Do you have any further info?
