Hi, I am searching for the burial place of Henry John Stoneham. He died in 1815 in Jackson Co Ga. He married Jane Dillard. After his death Jane and their 15 children moved to Alabama then Texas. I looked in Jackson Co cemetery book and he is not listed. I think he may have been buried on his property and may be the only one buried there. Is there a chapter of DAR in Jackson Co? Henry John fought in the American Revolution and I thought they may have info. He came to Ga from Amherst Co Va. Thanks, Pat
Lucretia HOLLAND, a widow, is found in deed records of Jackson County, Georgia (in an area later to become Hall Co., GA) dating around 1818. I am interested in corresponding with anyone researching this lady. Who were her children, who did they marry, etc.? Your response is appreciated. C. Ward CMW12635@aol.com

Andrew Presley was married to "Anny" Strickland, 13 Jan 1830 in Hall County, Georgia. Anny, or Nancy was said to be the daughter of Henry Strickland, of Jackson County, GA. However, I feel this *may* be in error. I've examined the court records of Jackson County, Georgia. Henry Strickland died leaving three orphans: Clement, Isaac, and Nancy Strickland. Wilson Strickland was appointed guardian of Clement and Isaac Strickland and Hardy Strickland was appointed guardian of Nancy Strickland (records regarding the guardians appear in 1812). However, I find in the court records for 1829 a reference to Hardy Strickland, "guardian of Elizabeth Strickland daughter of Henry Strickland, dec'd. who intermarried with William Beal." Note that Henry Strickland's daughter is mentioned repeatedly in the early Jackson County court records as "Nancy Strickland." Yet, this 1829 reference refers to her as "Elizabeth." It may be a case of error on the part of the court recorder or the transcriber, as I utilized a transcript of the court records abovementioned (JACKSON COUNTY, GEORGIA EARLY COURT RECORDS 1796-1831; transcribed by Faye Stone Poss). It would appear that the daughter of Henry Strickland, of Jackson County, Georgia was married to William Beal. I am left then with my Anny "Nancy" Strickland (wife of Andrew Presley) and no identification of her parents. Simon, Drury, and Irvin Strickland are all found in Hall County, GA in 1820. An "Ann Stricklin, widow" is found in Hall County in 1827. The thoughts and advice of the subscribers are appreciated. C. Ward CMW12635@aol.com
