    3. Researchers: I wanted to tell you again about my series of books entitled "THESE MEN WORE GREY". These books not only give you every identifiable Burial location of all the Confederate Soldiers in each county and their wives but also gives you Genealogical information on each man, even his marriage date and his parents marriage records if they could be found. Also included in each book are the complete MILITIA enrollment lists for each county, the Complete SALT RECORDS (which includes wives, widows, families dependent on the labor of a soldier and disabled soldiers) in each county, MUSTER ROLLS from each county including some obscure rolls of Cavalry and Old Men's Homeguard units, PENSION RECORDS, LETTERS HOME (in some volumes), and each book contains some special records found in courthouses never before published. MY WEBPAGE IS "Http://www.hartcom.net/~scv935/grey" Each Volume is featured on a separate page and has a complete listing of what each book contains even a SURNAME INDEX for each volume. ORDER BLANK IS provided there for your convenience. If you have questions please e-mail me. I am currently at work on JACKSON CO. which will be Volume VII of the series. Karen T. Ledford/Toccoa, Ga. 2. Danny - The name is spelled Mangam, or Mangum, in the 1850 Jackson Co. Census, but I've also seen it spelled as Mangrum. I don't think its the same as Manus, or at least I can't find any Manus references in what I have on Jackson Co. About 1805 or so, there was a Howell Mangrum in Franklin Co. (Jackson formed totally out of Franklin in 1796), but he was here a little too early for the ones in Jackson Co. Arthur Mangum was age 50 in the 1850 Jackson Co. census, born in NC, wife Lavina, b. abt 1845 in GA, and Lucy Mangum, age 90, b. in VA, so it looks like the family originally came from VA. Not far from Arthur is a William Mangum, age 57, b. NC - I suspect this is his brother. There was also a Middleton P. Mangam, age 25, b. GA, wife Rebecca 24, & child Sarah E., 1 mos. old.
