    1. Nancy Williamson/Burnett Henderson
    2. Joanne Scobee Morgan
    3. Hi. I'm searching for a Williamson family that had a daughter named Nancy who would have been born somewhere around 1814ish in Georgia. The family may have moved to Tennessee prior to 1834, as we believe that's where and when Nancy married Burnett M. Henderson. In 1838 Nancy & Burnett were in Hopkins Co., KY...possibly sooner. Family (parents or sibling's) names could include Emma, Mary Ann, Maynard, John, Alta Zera, or Elizabeth, as that's what she named her children. They moved from Tennessee (Nancy & Burnett) to MO., between 1842 and 1845. From 1845-1848 Burnett was the sheriff of Putnam/Dodge Co., MO. Nancy died between 1845 and 1850, when Burnett had another child with a 2nd wife named Sarah. Can anyone help me out here? I'm getting desperate with this family. They are terrific hiders! And my gr gr grandparents. Joanne Scobee Morgan

    3. Ihave an ancestor, James McDonald with family in Jackson County from 1799 to about 1820. James died about 1806 and left small children and a widow. The 3 oldest boys went into indenture; the youngest stayed with his mother, who remarried about 1808 to a Joseph Burnett. Does anyone have any information on this family, or know if the indenture records still exist and how to access them? Thanks very much, Dan McDonald __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Thousands of Stores. Millions of Products. All in one place. Yahoo! 1. Sunrise Cemetery Records, Maysville GA
    2. Todd Dorsey
    3. Hello researchers...I am pleased to announce the publication of the Sunrise Cemetery Records of Maysville, GA. I personally compiled this inventory of the cemetery and divided this 46-page booklet into an alpha section (names listed in alphabetical order with birth and death dates) and a grid section (names listed by burial location with birth and death dates). Additionally, the grid section has limited parental and spousal information. The inventory includes burials up to Feb. 1999. For your copy, please send $15 check or money order to Todd Dorsey, PO Box 197, Maysville, GA. Please pardon this intrusion of a commercial nature but this will help many out there. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Researching Brown, Bullock, Burroughs, Dorsey, Glenn, Hardman, Hampton, Hooper, Kirk, Lewis, Morris, Pittman, Sims, Thompson, Wilbanks, and Winfrey with over 9400 names in my database. http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~dorsey/ Authoring a book, The Early History of Maysville, Georgia. 1. MADISON LEFEVRE ADAIR / CAMP
    2. whnok13
    3. Hi All, I am new to the list and searching for a PHOTO of WILLIAM M. ADAIR, whether family or individual shot as long as it is a good clear copy showing the face clearly. ROBERT SIDNEY ADAIR was born in South Carolina in 1783. He descended from one of the old families of the Adairs of Scotland. His great grandfather was Robin Adair, a boon companion of Robert Burns, the Scottish bard. His wife, MARTHA PATSY LEFEVRE was related to the distinguished Lefevre family, originally of France who migrated to South Carolina. Her mother was a widow named Milliner LETCHER whose maiden name came from the important KEY family of Virginia. They were married in South Carolina and then later migrated to Gwinnett County, Georgia in 1818. The immediate family of Robert Sidney Adair consisted of two daughters and four sons. ELIZABETH ADAIR married Moses A. BRANDON in 1837 and died of consumption in Cass County, GA (present day Bartow County) in 1847. PATSY ADAIR married Joseph A. YOUNG in 1843 and died in Cass County also. MADISON LEFEVRE ADAIR, the oldest son, lived in Lawrenceville and married the daughter of Berryman CAMP of Jackson County, GA. ROBERT SIDNEY ADAIR JR married 1st Eliza Ann HOOD, the daughter of James Hood, and 2nd a Miss PRICE. Another son, TERRY JACKSON ADAIR died in 1868. The youngest son, WILLIAM M. ADAIR was killed in action at Gettysburg on July 4, 1863. Have much information to share on this family and am hoping to connect with a descendent that will have an old family PHOTO that will include the youngest son, WILLIAM M. ADAIR. I am badly in need of the photo for a Civil War research project that is very important. Best regards, Jane

    1. female mayors
    2. Todd Dorsey
    3. I thought it might be interesting to include in my book that Maysville has had a female mayor, Mary Arnold. I started racking my brain to think of any other local communities having had a female mayor, and I couldn't come up with any. As far as I know, Commerce and Homer have never had a female mayor. I would love some comments on this subject. 3. Todd, I don't have your Richard Lewis but in my Jackson Co., GA source (book) "Jackson County, Georgia Early Court Records 1796-1831" by Faye S. Poss, there is a court record, Minutes of Court of Ordinary R.S. Oaths, 1822-1831, entered about 1st Mar 1830: Elizabeth S. Lewis has given the required notice that she is applying to the court for letters of administration on estate of Pearce B. Lewis; executed by J.W. Glenn, Robert Smithwick and Robert Venable. Found on pages 107-108 of the court record and page 331 of the source above-named. This could "possibly" be a lead for you for some of Richard Lewis' earlier lineage. I also have in my line a Richard Lewis, who marr. on 23 Feb 1802 in Green Co., GA, Susannah Hightower b.c.1781 Mecklenburg Co., VA. Probably too early for your Richard Lewis. I see that you are researching BROWN. Where are you BROWNs from? My BROWN and BUNN families are found later on in Emanuel Co., GA, having come from NC. My DODD line is from Habersham Co., GA, having come from somewhere in VA. My TOLBERT line is from Jackson Co., GA, probably from NC. Good luck.
