Jesse CLEMENTS and wife Margaret SMITH are in the 1850 Emanuel Co. Census. Then they appear in the Irwin Co. 1860 Census. In the 1870 Irwin Co. Census he is listed with a different birth date and a different wife. Also there is a child not listed anywhere else----J.F. (T) 20. What might the T stand for? Adoption? The other children are correct from what I have found. I guess he could have remarried and J.F. be the second wife's child, but that doesn't explain the 3 year discrepancy in Jesse's birth date.
