I am a descendent of Michael Jordan Horn whose daughter, Annie Mae, married Charles King Chesnutt, Jr. My direct line is Mary Jane Horn and Eli Clark. I doubt if I'm giving you any new information, but I did notice when I went through the 1840 Irwin Co census that a Charley Chesnutt was on it. Quite a few of my ancestors were in Irwin in 1840, including Michael Jordan Horn and his father, Michael, and brother, Rowlen; William J. Hornsby, and more. The Horns were from Edgecomb and Nash Counties, NC. My Merritts were from Sampson Co, NC, but I don't know if they connect to those in Irwin Co, GA. Mitzi Clark Bateman
