Are you sure about there only being one child. I don't have any info on John and Rebecca except the date they were married April 29, 1872 in Irwin Co. Rebecca Mixon was the first wife of John Roberts we think....But my John Roberts for sure was married to Fereby Whitley m Dec.12, 1894. Together they had only one child (my grandmother) Rebecca Estelle Roberts b Nov. 18, 1895. My mom and 4 of her sisters all in their 70s and 80s want to know the identity of their grandfather John Roberts. We are not even sure that he was married to Rebecca Mixon. John Roberts was for a fact married to 2 women. By the first wife he had 7 children. A couple of the names that my aunts remember hearing about was Issac and Henry they can't remember any more except the only girl was named Cathlene, she died very young of the fever. John Roberts died when my grandmother was only 3 or 4 yrs. old. Her mother Fereby remarried to a W. T. Boykin, by the time my grandmother was 5. Thats why we don't know anything else. There is one more thing the funeral book of my grandmother Rebecca shows that she had a br there named John G. Roberts. So we know the names of three of them. Are you living in Irwin Co.?
