Hello Shirley No I am sure there are more children, the only one I can confirm is Rachel and the problem with her is the date listed in the cemetery book as 1894 when Rebecca died in 1893. Someone got this transcribed wrong or she was born to Fereby. The problem in reading headstones is that many are old and the writing is sometimes hard to read. Also I have seen many mistakes where whom ever provided the information did not have the information right to start with. Rebecca Mixon did marry John G Roberts on 29 Apr 1872 in Irwin County. She was born 16 Jul 1853 in Irwin Co and died 8 Dec 1893 and is buried with her husband John G Roberts at New Valley Grove Baptist Cemetery in Irwin County. John G Roberts dates are 23 Dec 1854 - 2 Nov 1896. Rebecca Mixon was the daughter of John L Mixon & Nancy Gibbs (my g-g-grandparents) she also is the sister to my grandfather Wright Mixon. Her parents and many other relatives are buried at Brushy Creek Cemetery. John G Roberts second wife Fereby Whitley Boykin (2 Sep 1875 - 1 Jan 1935) is buried at Brushy Creek Cemetery. And long with her second husband William T Boykin. (2 Oct 1875 - 6 Jul 1952) For your information they were married in Irwin Co 31 Aug 1902. John G Roberts was the son of John G Roberts & Nancy Summer He was the grandson of William Roberts and Nancy Tucker. The Tucker family is also one of my families. These families marry back and forth for generations. That is why a large majority of people that live in and around Irwin County are related in some fashion. I am sure the information you have is correct if you look at the dates of death of John G Robert's first wife and his marriage to the second wife. Then look at his date of death and then the marriage of his second wife to her second husband. It is all logical. I am still working on these families and may have more information as I research. No I am not in Irwin Co, I am in Des Moines, IA, but I have lots of Irwin County relatives. My mother Maxie Mixon Johnson owns a farm in Irwin Co near Brushy Creek Cemetery and of the land surrounding Brushy Creek Baptist Church, much is owned by relatives. I have spent much time there in my childhood running all over.
