My husband's great grandfather, Jesse Clements (b.1820)married a Margaret Smith (b.1819)in Emanuel County Georgia in 1844 and are in the 1850 Census there. Her birth place is shown as GA. They begin showing up in Irwin Co. in the 1860 Census. I have never found any leads at all on her parents, and have had no one write about the name. If you find a Margaret, I would be very interested.
