According to the Family Tree Maker CD "Marriage Index: Georgia, 1851-1900, Clayton L. Powell did indeed marry Sarah Gibbs on May 17, 1853. The record can be found in the County Court Records, Film #0394635-0394636. Sarah didn't by chance have a brother named John who married Margrett Scaff in Wilcox Co., did he? As I have heard so many others lament, I believe my Gibbs was in the Witness Protection Program, he is so elusive. Thanks!
