Posted on: Irwin County, Ga Query Forum Board URL: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ga/Irwin?read=327 Surname: McGuire, McNealy, Worley ------------------------- Hello list, I am at a brick wall and I am hoping someone will be able to help me out. I am looking for my Great Grandmothers 2nd husband. I guess I need to start off with some names and dates of what I have. Here goes.. My Great Grandmothers name is Dovie Elizabeth "Ruth" McNealy she was b. July 23, 1895 in Anderson, SC d. July 07, 1989 in Dade City, Florida. She married Percy Worley and had 3 children. 1. Hazel Evelyn Worley McGuire b.July 7, 1912 in Anderson, SC d. March 1973 in Dade City, Florida 2. James Virgil Worley McGuire b.April 04, 1915 in Anderson,SC and d.March 13, 1980 in Dade City, Florida. he married a Wendell Jaunita Wilson and had 1 child.. My Father. 3.Edgar Wade Worley McGuire b.July 12, 1917 All children are buried with Dovie "Ruth" in Dade City, Florida. Now here is the kicker..... PLEASE any Ideas are welcome!! Now sometime after Uncle Eds birth 1917... Dovie "Ruth" Fled from Percy Worley and went to the Atlanta, GA area where she met and married William Monroe McGuire. It is not known if she ever divorced Percy Worley or what happened. It is alson not known if William "Bill" ever adopted the 3 children list or they just started using the McGuire last name. Bill died in Dade City, FLorida and his body was sent back to Irwin, GA to be buried at home. I found this out by mistake... I have no dates for Willaim McGuire. I have heard my grandfather James McGuire speak of this "Bill" and he often said how much a wonderful man he was. and thathe was his "Dad". Not Knowing at the young age I was what he meant. I now understand... It takes nothing to be a "father"... But it takes everything to be a "Daddy". Sooo.. In hopes of someone out there knowing this family.. I can only hope you will be able to reply so we can share family names and pictures.. Thank you, Stacey McGuire Jacksonville, Florida

    1. [GAIRWIN] Brinkley / Dixon
    2. Hi folks. I'm trying to find the parents of Durward Brinkley. Born in Fitzgerald in (I think) 1909. Couldn't find him in the 1910 census but he turns up in the 1920 census in Macon living with Gussie Dixon and Zena Brinkley. Gussie is head of household. I don't think Zena is his mother. I believe she's an aunt. A Zena Dixon married Willie Brinkley in Irwin County 1903 0r 1908. The latter I think. I notice that a few years later a William Brinkley was was married in Irwin Co. Might be the same one. Does anyone know anything about these folks? Thanks Joe

Searching for parents of one Sarah J. GRANTHAM (b 10 Nov 1873, d 6 Feb 1908, buried in William F. (Billy) Paulk Cem, Irwin Co, GA...she married 1894 Hardeman M. GIDDENS. Also in the 1900 Irwin Co census, p 128A, #524 (Mystic, Ga P.O.) there is an "E." Grantham, and the sex was written over and difficult to tell whether it's a female or male. Listed in house: C. A. (m) b Oct 1880; Mary b Sep 1887; Sadie b Nov 1889; Lila b Apr1893. This "E." had been married for 15 yrs (which would have been 1885, however, I could not find an Irwin Co Marriage record),and there was no indication of how many children "E" was the parent of...thus "E" could be a male. Will gladly share research.

    3. Hi Nancy, I wish I had my Grantham's in the computer or knew where that info is right now to see if I could help you. My husband's grandfather was John (and he added G. ) Grantham who married Marie Wilcox in West Green. John's father was Nathan, s/o Elisha who married Hulda Youngblood. All of your names are sooooo familiar. I don;t have time to look for it tomorrow because I have to pack to go to Blackshear. My father was 83 yesterday and I have to go give him a hug hoping he'll be around lots more years. He doesn't even look sixty. That's the Rhoddenberry blood in him mixed with the Clark, Dixon, Boyette, and Crawford. He has a brother 87 and his mothers sister lived to be 103.. When I find my Grantham folder, I'll see if I can help any. I found Eliza in the 1880 Irwin Co census listed with Moses PETERSON & wife Martha Ann (no other children in home). Was Eliza related to Moses Peterson or his wife? What happened to Fannie GRANTHAM? 3. Hello, My name is Becky Carden, and I am new to the group! I am hoping someone on here can help me with my problem Carden! I am desperately seeking information on Owen H.R. Carden, and his parents! Also sometimes he's listed as Owen N.K. Carden. He was born around 1820 in Ga. He was married to a Nancy McLeod, in 1843 in Pike Co., and they were listed in the 1850 census for Pike Co. I think I have seen a David Carden listed for Irwin Co., and there is a possibility that might be his father, but at this point I am grasping at straws, and would love to hear from anyone who has any information on any Carden whatsoever! All help would be greatly appreicated! Thanks so much, Becky Carden, [email protected]
