My husband's great grandfather, Jesse Clements (b.1820)married a Margaret Smith (b.1819)in Emanuel County Georgia in 1844 and are in the 1850 Census there. Her birth place is shown as GA. They begin showing up in Irwin Co. in the 1860 Census. I have never found any leads at all on her parents, and have had no one write about the name. If you find a Margaret, I would be very interested. Summerlin. John marred Margaret Summerlin 07-31-1898 in Coffee county Ga. Margaret was marred to William Summerlin in 1888, they had 4 childen, Elizabeth, James, Noah and William Thomas born Jan.14 1896 died Nov. 19 1897. John and Margaret had 1 girl, Jane born about 1900 in Coffee co. Ga. in the Coffee CO. census John and Margaret lived in the part that is now Atkinson Co. Ga. John and Margaret were not married long about 10 or 12 years. Margaret lived in Berrien Co Ga in 1910. Can anyone help me identify William and John's father and mother.Any help will be appreciateed.
I have found my Pearson, Martin and Green Brown in the 1830-1860 census reports of Irwin, Pulaski, Early, Dooly and Worth Counties Georgia. While Tracking two more of my lines (Page and Phelps) in Randolph Co, GA, I found the Brown names I have listed below. I believe some of these may be my missing ancestors. I found the following Browns in the 1840 Randolph County Census as Heads of Household. They are not in the 1830 or 1850, only the 1840. Has anyone run across these names in their searches? I already had two lines at that time in Randolph (Page & Phelps), and the Pages married into the Browns a short time later. This, plus the same uncommon names leaves me looking for probably one missing generation to connect these Browns to mine. Any descendants out there? Anyone with any info on these Browns?
