    2. Posted on: Irwin County, Ga Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ga/Irwin/402 Surname: McGraw, Paulk, Harrison, Fussell ------------------------- I am looking for Andrew Jackson McGraw's parents or any connection to him. Andrew Jackson McGraw was my grandfather who was born in Jacksonville, Georgia - Telfair County in 1871. He was a carpenter who worked in the many counties aroung South Georgia. He married Gertrude Zanana Strayer in 1899 in Irwin County. They had several children, one of which was Bessie Gertrude McGraw, born 1902, died 1903, and was buried near Moultrie, Georgia. We have also heard that Bessie Gertrude was buried at Osierfield, Georgia. Another Child was John EArl McGraw who was born in 1904 in Wilcox County. We have heard that Andrew Jackson McGraw's mother was Mary Jane Harrison and his father was either Richard, John, and other names. One family member said Andrew's mother was Martha Ann Harrison. One source states that Andrew had a sister who married a Paulk in Fitzgerald, Georgia. Some say that Mary Jane Harrison was married to a Jacob Fussell prior to being married to a McGraw. Any information would be appreciated since we have been searching for years. My E-mail address is [email protected] Bob McGraw

She lives in Mystic, Ga. probably has an Ocilla, Ga. address. I will follow up and see if she still has books. I have only used her book in the Irwin County library.

(Probably other siblings but I have no solid proof yet). They were sons of Andrew J. Broaddus, son of Andrew Broaddus, Jr (I believe). They owned land sold to them by Andrew Broaddus and heirs in that county. The land of Andrew's was parceled off greatly to many over the years. Andrew and family were in business...said to have shuttled folks across the river with a ferry business and had a quarry business as well. I would like to share information as I am looking for more substantive information on Andrew. Thanks!
