TGE work he posted had names, dates, information that only myself and my deceased Dad knew. Some of the information I purposely "Salted" with errors and typos...to insure no one plagiarized...This is a public board and very easily searched by anyone wanting to assume living person's identities. Yes, sometimes a post will slip by without my catching it. Tucker (originally from Irwin Co)has listed in his home: Elijah Grantham, 22(or 32)yrs "Nephew", with his wife Malinda and 3 children, viz: William (14 yr), Joel (2 yr) and Davis (9/12). Does anyone know HOW Elijah Grantham is a "nephew" of Davis Tucker? I know there's a Tucker family history book, so if someone has a copy, perhaps there might be a clue in that. I wonder if Malinda (wife of Elijah) could be the granddaughter of Davis Tucker through his son Henry C. Tucker & Sarah Hall. Although Henry C.'s daughter is listed in his home in 1880 Irwin Co census. Interesting that Elijah & Malinda's baby son they named Davis. Huxford says that Elijah's wife was Malinda Johnson, but can anyone document that - or what source he used for her being a Johnson. Gladly share research. There are just a lot of Elijahs with birthdates that vary from one source to the next! I will be happy to supply you with my source for that information. A number of years ago I did a lot of research on the Granthsms (since I'm a descendant of one), thus I have quite a collection of family records. I appreciate you willingness to help me solve this mystery! It's my opinion that someone gave the census taker in 1880 Echols information that might not be accurate. I saw the "nephew" listing and will check that out further. Again, thanks for your assistance. Nancy in AZ Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Tucker & Sarah (?Hall)... Malinda was b abt 1847, Irwin Co. She is listed with Henry C. & Sarah in the 1850, 1860, 1870 and 1880 census records. Anyone know if she was ever married? ..or.. Could she be the Malinda (32/1880) in Echols Co, Ga census listed with her grandfather Davis D. Tucker. This shows her as the wife of one Elijah Grantham with children: William, 14 yr; Joel, 2 yr and Davis, 9mo. Mr. Folks Huxford in his account of the William JOHNSON & Matilda (Newbern) family, Vol 3, p156 of PIONEERS OF WIREGRASS GEORGIA says that William Johnson's daughter Belinda/Malinda married Elijah Grantham. Seems odd that Elijah and Malinda would name their baby son Davis (?after Davis D. Tucker), unless maybe Malinda was a Tucker and not a Johnson. However, I cannot account for Malinda Tucker being listed with her parents Henry C. Tucker and wife Sarah ?Hall. Hopefully, someone knows what happened to Henry C. His death certificate gives his parents' names as Elijah and Malinda Grantham. What was Malinda's maiden name? What happened to Reason's wife Maude, who had been married 1st to James N. CHRISTMAS, and had 3 children with him prior to marrying Reason Grantham? The 1910 Worth Co census shows Maude married twice, 4 yrs to Reason and the mother of 3 kids, all 3 living (these were the children by James N. Christmas). Did Reason & Maude have any children?
