    2. The genealogy data will most likely be of more interest to most of you so I will concentrate on getting those pages scanned first. Hopefully all of the scans will have the page numbers on them. That way we can put all of the pages in order to make a complete volume. I plan to download it all and place it in a hardback notebook binder for reference. I will send you the url where the images are and will do the same for any of the rest of you who would like to be able to print out copies of those pages. 2. Gloria, What a great thing to do for your dad (and yourself)! I hope to one day move my father from where he is buried in Seminole County, Florida to the Mt Olive Cemetery in Bradley Junction, Polk County, Florida where his Mother,Father,Grandparents, and Great Grandmother, plus great aunts, uncles and cousins are buried I am sure that others will benefit from the Clements book on-line, but don't hurry on my account. I read my copy in 2 days and am enjoying rereading it, especially the notes form the churches about who was excommunicated for what. I guess times really haven't changed that much except for people being more 'tolerant.' Looking forward to one day getting up to Irwin County. In His Name, Dave

Seems like in checking the Clements family did not renew the copyrights and the only copyright is on the 50 page index that is in the reprint of the same book. Now that I have my personal webapages updated I will scan the pages and place them online including all of the photos of our ancestors. Though my copy of the book is pretty well worn the inside is still in good shape and won't be any problem to scan. Also I have a great program which will take my scan and put it into plain text format so I can also do that for any of you that would like to have a copy of the entire book. Since like many of you I descend from so many of the Irwin County Pioneers my grandparents had a library filled with old books that were written early in the history of Georgia South Central Counties. Also I do have some others which were published in recent years. Gloria

So in that case I will definately transcribe that book too and place it on the Irwin County GeorgiaGenWeb Site which I have hosted for the past eight years. Out of respect for copyrights I did not transcribe the book but since it seems that is not a problem I will glady transcribe the book So please keep checking the pages for the updates as I will get started on the transcriptions soon. In fact some pdf scans of the book would be great. Guess that means that any of the other genealogy books that I have on hand published around 1932 or before will also be o.k. to transcribe to the webpages. Will make sure though that copyrights have not been renewed. Gloria

    3. Hi everyone, I have been offline busy with the updates and changes to the pages that I host for Ben Hill, Irwin and Pulaski Counties. As some of you know we have had a big change in the GAGenWeb. Instead of one there is actually two GAGenWeb Projects online. One is still affilated with the USGenWeb and the other is now affilated with AHGP. I chose to resign from the project which is affilated with USGenWeb and have linked the county pages to the new GAGenWeb Project as did about 50% plus of the coordinators. I do hope you will all visit the new site once we get everything operational. We are in need of new County Coordinators if you have an interest in hosting a county. We do not force anyone to place their data in an archives but the data remains at the county level and we believe in the county coordinators are the heart of the project. Many Irwin County pioneer families had strong ties to Pulaski County so I hope that any of you who descends from Pulaski County lines will join the new mail list. There is even a live chat feature which allows us to chat via microphones and a photo album for sharing our family photos and many other wonderful features. Just go to the link above and sign up. As soon as the new pages are all uploaded and ready for viewing I will send a message to this list. 3. Shirley, the Luke family is one bigggg family aren't they? Just like all of our other allied lines...I never realized how life long friends and neighbors in Fitzgerald and Irwin County I was related to until Phil published his book. I don't think there are any pioneer families not connected in one way or another. How on earth did any of our ancestors avoid marrying a cousin? <smile> June is a wonderful person and sure does her fair share of helping others. June joined us soon after we adopted the counties and has been volunteering now going on eight years as of this Autumn. The years have really flown by. Lots of our Cousins are still subbed to the list and have been with us since the first years before we had mail lists. Now those were some pretty busy times as we had to post all of the queries to the pages that we set up. Now anyone can just post a query to the mail list for send a private email to the volunteer. Our first pages was "Our Cousin's Corner", which is still online but needs some updating and editing which I plan to do soon. At one time we just linked from one anothers pages and did not have state projects. 3. Lora, the url will be the same. The state page will be different. We are in the process of getting it all ready. And are all excited about the change. But an announcement will be made here as soon as the pages are all up. John and I have so many hard copies of actual court records for some counties in this area of Georgia and we want to scan them and get them all online. These are actual indexes of land records, guardianship, marriages, wills and when we get the new pages online and get all set up we will be scanning and placing these documents online. Then all you have to do is to find your ancestors name on the index page and write the County for a copy of the actual land records. These land records are amazing pieces of genealogy information as in many cases they name family members by name and their relationship to the land owner. When it is the first piece of land that person has in the county it will show the former county, state or home that person lived when the p! roperty was purchased. Also there are cases where a father in law gives land to a son in law and names that person as son in law. These land records alone are priceless. But if you don't know there is a land transaction the only way you can find it is to rent the microfilmed copies of the land indexes or go to the courthouse and go through the books. My idea of genealogy webpages is to place indexes and other types of helpful information that will save the researcher time and money. Edd Dorminey has placed the Irwin County indexes online for many records and we have Edd to thank for having access to so much Irwin county court records. But the ones that I will be placing online in some cases are for Pulaski County and Telfair, Dodge, Dooly Counties. As you might know some of our Irwin County ancestors were first in Pulaski before coming down to Irwin so in those cases it will be a big help. My dream is to have images online of some of these wills, deeds, marriages and we were in the process of doing that before the change over in leadership of the GAGenWeb Project. But now we move forward and we go with a cheerful attitude. Any of our subscribers are welcome to share your records with others by scanning the documents and allowing us to post it on the webpages. Just as soon as we get the pages back on line we will let everyone know. And again, thanks for the understanding during this transitional period.
