Recently in the Bulloch County Courthouse, I came across a document which linked one of these Green's to Irwin County. His name was John Green. In this document. He sold 490 acres of land that he had in Irwin County to Joshua Platt for $100. This sell was made on Dec. 27th, 1822. The document said this about the said land. "in the state of Georgia and in the twelfth district Irwin County and is known and Distinguished in a plan of the said district by the number one hundred and seven." I believe this land would probably be in Modern Day Lowndes County but the sale happened while it was still in Irwin. In the 1820 Bulloch Census, Joshua Platt appears. However, in 1830 he appears in the Lowndes County Georgia Census. I am trying to figure out what date John Green purchased or was granted this land and if a plat exists of it, I will gladly pay for a copy if someone is willing to get it for me. Thanks. Hi Folks, The annual White, Hersey, Rowell Family Reunion at the Bickley United Methodist Church in Bickley, Ware Co., Georgia has been scheduled for Saturday, August 11, 2007. Everyone with a Wiregrass Georgia White, Hersey or Rowell connection is invited to attend. Attendees start gathering at the Church about 10:00 AM and will eat lunch around noon. Attendees are requested to bring a covered dish for the lunch. Kids should bring swimsuits and towels for the water slide.
