John is living with Gipson, wife & son, Willis, in 1850 - but the math doesn't work for him to be the son of Gipson's wife (giving birth at 56 is still kinda rare). He is still living with Gipson & his wife in 1860 when all of Gipson's children are gone from home. My best guess is that he is a grandchild - but who are the parents. I have found a church record of John's second marriage (in 1901) to Charlotte Rowe and it lists no father and Caroline Gray as his mother. I've guessed at some of the wording as the record is in Latin - but it is reasonably clear. I only ever find record of Nancy Gray & 4 sons among listings of Gipson's children - but the 1830 census indicates that there were 4 sons & 2 daughters in the household. So it seems possible that there was a Caroline who may have had a son & she died when he was very young & he was left with her parents. I haven't been able to look for a will for Gipson or any land records - probably have to be on-site at the courthouse for that and I'm in Florida. Right now I think that might be where I have to look. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Cheryl M. Hi Folks, The annual White, Hersey, Rowell Family Reunion at the Bickley United Methodist Church in Bickley, Ware Co., Georgia has been scheduled for Saturday, August 8, 2009.    Everyone with a Wiregrass Georgia White, Hersey or Rowell connection is invited to attend.  Attendees start gathering at the Church about 10:00 AM and will eat lunch around noon.  Attendees are requested to bring a covered dish for the lunch.  Kids should bring swimsuits and towels for the water slide. I was employed there for 3 years and I also know the owner. The property is owned by A.N. Adcock. The park stopped its operations as the owner got older and the liabilty became higher. With more and more people becoming aware of its existance, more visitors would come.It became almost impossible to have the amount of lifegaurds needed to support that need.The lake is now almost empty, onlt a small spot of water remains. A couple currently lives there on the premises and takes care of the grounds.Not sure if anyone has seen the ariel photo online. You must zoom and zoom to understand what you are looking at. I went there as a small child with my family numerous times. That place holds a special part of my history. The pic is at forum.gon.com "Remember Crystal Lake?" I am specifically needing the full list of burials in the Big Creek Primative Baptist Church Cemetery in Irwin Co. GA. I also would like to see what is actually recorded for the Turner burials in Hebron Cemetery in Coffee Co. I have seen postings for a burial in the Hebron Cemetery for a Thomas Turner but the information does not match in postings so I think there are errors someplace.
